Nike Football & VBFC Present: Toma La Noche - The Beach

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Venice Beach Football Club had the incredible honor of hosting the third stop of Nike’s TOMA La Noche tour right on our home turf along Ocean Front Walk at the world famous Estadio De Dogtown in Venice, California.

It’s been a decade since the days when football was an illegal activity in the eyes of Park and Recreation. Back in 2016, VBFC was hassled for their attempts to host local free pickup games. Since then, it’s became the epicenter of the street game, along with the sport exploding beyond franchises and travel clubs in this country. The past Sunday was a hell of a way to showcase how far the game has come. Lowriders, dancers, celebrities, and a crowd usually reserved for only Basketball events. Some locals say it was the biggest event and crowd they have ever seen on this boardwalk. What a way to celebrate a decade of VBFC – turning our iconic stretch of coastline into a floodlit street soccer arena where creativity, skill, and community collided under the lights. For us at VBFC, this wasn’t just another event. It was a full-circle moment. Since our Sunday pickups began in 2016, we’ve been building a space where raw talent meets real community on the Westside. Partnering with Nike for TOMA La Noche allowed us to showcase exactly that: the next generation of ballers (ages 14-18) expressing themselves freely in 4v4 battles, with packed crowds lining the court, palm trees swaying, and that unmistakable Venice energy in the air.

The night was electric from start to finish. Players brought intensity, flair, and skill. The competition was fierce, but the vibes were even better – music pumping, the beach backdrop glowing, and the whole community showing up strong. Huge congratulations to the qualifiers who punched their tickets to the LA Finals: Shoreline (Girls), Total Football (Boys), and 1v1 winners @Alexisss710 and VBFC’s very own Lucas Medeiros. You represented the culture with pride. This event perfectly embodied what VBFC stands for: street football culture rooted in Venice, amplified on a global stage by Nike. Ten years in, seeing our young players shine in front of a massive crowd, with the ocean just steps away, reminded everyone why we do this. A massive thank you to the entire Nike TOMA team for trusting VBFC to host and bringing this vision to life. Thank you to every player, spectator, volunteer, and partner who made the night unforgettable. To our Venice community – this one was for you.
