VENICE BEACH FC ACADEMY VS. MLS ACADEMY SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 2010 & 2011
The boys traveled from Venice to the BAY to play a exhibition friendly against the San Jose Earthquakes MLS Academy side which recently appointed former VBFC pickup legend and professional player, Renato Bustamente as head coach. Renato would play on sundays during his professional career as a player. The 2010 VBFC boys won 2-1 against the MLS side, while the 2011 match ended 2-0 for the the Earthquakes.
Before competing, the teams also had the chance to visit Cal Berkley University where they were given a tour of the school and opportunity to see the life of a division one student athlete. After exploring the campus, the group then watched the Cal mens team play a in season match against Syracuse in their season matchup between two division one giants.
